Today, we will look at the life of Martha Bandy, the third child and first daughter of Andrew Bandy and Rebecca Wooldridge.

Martha Bandy was born 22 June 1825, Botetourt County, Virginia; died 6 November 1895, Americus, Lyon, Kansas; married Michael Hobble, 14 March 1841, Lawrence County, Ohio. Michael was born c1820; died 9 June 1876, Peoria County, Illinois.

Michael and Martha (Bandy) Hobble were the parents of ten children, who all lived to adulthood and married.

1. Elizabeth C. Jane Hobble, born 21 June 1842, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 28 June 1921, Lyon County, Kansas; married Jesse Jones, 20 June 1861, Peoria County, Illinois. Jesse was born 25 February 1837, Ohio; died 29 January 1911, Lyon County, Kansas. They were the parents of seven children, six living in 1900.
2. Andrew Jackson Hobble, born 13 August 1845, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 28 July 1924, Clackamas County, Oregon; married Martha Lightbody, 22 November 1866, Peoria County, Illinois. Martha was born 1850, Illinois; died 1944, Clackamas County, Oregon. They were the parents of five children, four living in 1900.
3. Mary C. Hobble, born 21 April 1848, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 8 December 1939, Rock Island County, Illinois; married (1) William Cowgill Sayler, 7 August 1866, Peoria County, Illinois. William was born c1848, Illinois; died c1881. (2) William Henry Hayes, 14 October 1883, Peoria County, Illinois. William was born c1848, Illinois; died c1881, possibly in Newton County, Missouri, where the family lived in 1880. Mary then returned to Illinois. Mary was the mother of five children with William Sayler and two more daughters with William Hayes. Six of her seven children were living in 1900.
4. Rebecca Isabelle Hobble, born 15 August 1850, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 16 November 1932, Lyon County, Kansas; married David Madison Cowser, 27 September 1866, Peoria County, Illinois. David was born 21 May 1842, Pennsylvania; died 16 April 1917, Lyon County, Kansas. They were the parents of three children.
5. Elmira Milanda Hobble, born 17 November 1852, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 29 January 1954, Peoria County, Illinois; married (1) Calvin Watson, 17 March 1870, Peoria County Illinois. Calvin was born c1851; died 1883. However, they divorced. (2) William Henry Hayes, 21 August 1873, Tazewell County, Illinois. William was born c1852, Illinois; died before 1900. In 1900, Elmira reported having six children, all living. It appears that her first child, Melissa, might be the daughter of Calvin Watson and the other five were children of William Hayes.
6. Melissa Hobble, born c1852, Lawrence County, Ohio; died before 10 August 1876; married Neely Butler Gray, 8 February 1872, Peoria County, Illinois. Neely was born c1849, Illinois. He married (2) Nellie Cornelia Wilsey, 10 August 1876, Tazewell County, Illinois. It appears that Melissa and Elmira were twins, both aged 8 years old in 1860. No children.
7. George Washington Hobble, born November 1855, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 6 November 1945, Peoria County, Illinois; married Lucinda M. Deselms, 2 June 1878, Peoria County, Illinois. Lucinda was born 30 January 1862, Illinois; died 1 August 1941, Peoria County, Illinois. In 1900, Lucinda reported having given birth to no children. No children.
8. Lucinda M. Hobble, born c1861, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 26 June 1883, Peoria County, Illinois; married George Albert Adams, c1882. Lucinda might have died in childbirth. She has no known children. No children.
9. Emma Elonia Hobble, born 14 April 1864, Lawrence County, Ohio; died 25 July 1956, Cook County, Illinois; married Joseph Bouchard, 30 May 1882, Cook County, Illinois. Joseph was born 1861; died 1933, Cook County, Illinois. They were the parents of five children.
10. John Henry Hobble, born 14 April 1868, Peoria County, Illinois; died 29 May 1917, Boise, Ada, Idaho; married (1) Cora Isabel Lamb, c1895. Cora was born 17 July 1871, Iowa; died 8 July 1904, Lyon County, Kansas. (2) Dora Bell Killion, c1906. Dora was born 18 April 1871, Iowa; died 20 October 1920, Rice County, Kansas. John was the parent of three children with Cora and one son with Dora.

This concludes the descendants of Andrew Bandy and Rebecca Wooldridge through their daughter Martha.
