Typing Non-English Alphabet Letters & Marks

A while back, I did a post about the challenges of reading old handwriting. Documents written in English are difficult enough, but those in other languages are even harder for those who don’t speak the language.

I decided to share the ASCII codes needed to type alphabet letters found in a few common foreign languages, namely Danish, Swedish, German, French and Spanish. I threw in the symbols for cents, pound sterling, euro and copywright, too.

I’ve created note cards for each so you can snip and save them for handy reference. I created them using PowerPoint and included the live links in PPT if you have the program and would like to save it that way.

I hope you find that these come in handy. The next thing I am going to do is print out copies for my own use. I can now type “Genealogy à la Carte!”
