Rev. John White & Lucy Wise, Gloucester, MA 1700s

Rev. John White is one of my more prominent ancestors, as he was a well respected minister who graduated from Harvard University in 1698 with both an A.B. and an A.M.

John White was born c1678, probably in Watertown, Middlesex, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph White and Hannah Scarborough.

He married Lucy Wise, the daughter of another prominent minister, Rev. John Wise and his wife, Abigail Gardner, on 9 June 1703 in Chebacco (Ipswich), Essex County, Massachusetts.

Lucy was born c1680, possibly in Roxbury or Ipswich, Massachusetts. She died on 5 March 1726/27 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.

John White married twice more: (2) Abigail (Mather) Blague, 26 August 1727, Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts and (3) Alice Norwood, 1 June 1749, Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts. However, all of his children were born to Lucy.
