John Adams, Loyalist, CT & New Brunswick, Canada: Generation 5 – 2X Great Grandchildren, Part 5

NOTE: First and foremost, this is still a work in progress. It’s been at least 20 years since I did a major revision on this family. Many records have been found in that time that tidy up a lot of dates and places, many of which came from family records.

The descendants are listed in ahnentafel order (in birth order of the children of John and Sarah.)

If you are a descendant of John Adams and Sarah Coley and can fill in any more of the question marks, please leave a comment.

These are the known 2X great grandchildren of Loyalists John and Sarah (Coley) Adams through their son Thomas.

James Adams (John3, Thomas2, John1) was born 1829, probably New Brunswick, Canada; married Ann (MNU), c1853. She was born 1834. They probably had other children. This family is listed in Barto’s Passamaquoddy, with no sources and has not been found in any U.S. or Canadian census or any other record.

Children of James and Ann (MNU) Adams:

  1. Laura, born 1855
  2. Alberta, born 1860
  3. Ardella, born 1868

Ambrose Adams (John3, Thomas2, John1) was born 28 October 1831/32, Deer Island, Charlotte, New Brunswick, Canada, New Brunswick, Canada; died 30 September 1902, Brewer, Penobscot, Maine married Sarah Jane Conley, 16 September 1852, New Brunswick, Canada. She was born March 1831, New Brunswick, Canada. His aunt, Elizabeth Adams, lived with him in 1880. She was 65, born 1815, New Brunswick, Canada. Her father was reportedly born in Connecticut and her mother in Vermont.

Three is an error in the 1880 census. By 1900, Seretha reported that the had 4/4 living children. In 1880, there is a son Samuel, born 1873, but found in no other records.
