April is rapidly coming to a close and we have our final Saturday Night Genealogy Fun challenge for the month from Randy Seaver:
1) Who Is Ancestor #50 in your Ahnentafel list? What were his birth date and place, his parents, death date and place, spouse’s name, marriage date and place, and how many children they had, and which of his children do you descend from?
George Rogers Tarbox, my 3X great grandfather, is my Ancestor #50.

He was born on 14 December 1818, New Gloucester, Cumberland, Maine, the eighth of eleven children born to William Tarbox and Judith Haskell.
George married (1) Deborah Elizabeth Glover, 8 March 1846, Lowell, Middlesex, Massachusetts, but she died thirteen months later, leaving no children. He married (2) Mary Elizabeth Scripture, 29 November 1848, Nashville, Nashua, New Hampshire. She is my ancestress.
Mary also died fairly young, on 11 March 1866, Calais, Washington, Maine, at the age of 39 years.
George and Mary were the parents of seven children: Mary Elizabeth, died in infancy, Elizabeth, George R., died aged 10 years old, Nellie F., Charles Franklin, Horace W. and Oliver Scripture.
Ollie, as he was called, married, but had no children.
Elizabeth, Nellie, Charles and Horace have descendants today. I am descended from Nellie, who married Calvin Segee Adams.
I have written extensively about George Rogers Tarbox, including a detailed life sketch.
Thanks, Randy, for this week’s topic.
Wow, you have a photo!
I actually have two of George!
I’m with Lisa: You have a photo! And you were able to provide all the information! Obviously not on your Slovak side of the family. 🙂
Love that photo! Great details…always so satisfying to find out so much about an ancestor.
