Today’s vintage photo going home to a descendant was taken in Harper, Kansas, c1890.

Someone, likely a family member, added sufficient family information on the back to make identification very easy:

Dr. Oliver Perry Branson was born on 23 November 1854 in Illinois and died on 5 February 1931. He is buried in Norwich, Kingman, Kansas.
Oliver married Laura Ellen Dalley, who went by Ella in 1900, in 1886. She was born in September 1859 in Ohio and died on 18 December 1908. Ella is buried with her husband in Norwich.
They were the parents of seven children, all born in Kansas:
- Sidney Jay, born 22 October 1887; died 11 September 1959, California; married Jenny Viola White. They were the parents of one son and one daughter.
- Leslie, born 21 May 1889; died 10 August 1962, California; married Grace E. Graves. They were the parents of two sons and three daughters.
- Infant, born 8 January 1891; died 25 January 1891
- Cora Mae, born 31 December 1891; died 18 January 1903
- Otis Dalley, born 24 May 1893; died 24 April 1951; married Hazel Eva Kelley. They were the parents of one daughter.
- Fred Avery, born 7 January 1896; died 4 July 1989; married Velma Scott Harris. They were the parents of one son and one daughter.
- Oliver Perry, born 6 August 1901; died 26 January 1987; married Juanita Maxwell. They had no children.
Because this family lived well into the 20th century and there are quite a few living descendants, I will only say that the adorable photo of Jay and brother Leslie has gone home to a descendant of one of the two brothers.
Another photo rescued and another good deed so this family can see their ancestors!
