This Christmas postcard with an unusually dressed Santa – all in blue – dates from 1907 or earlier as it has an undivided back and was mailed from Portland, Maine on 22 December with no year visible to Miss Lillian York of Sebasco (today Phippsburg), Maine. She was born in 1897, so was ten years old or younger when she received the postcard.

The greetings are very appropriate for a child:

My dear little Friend
Your letter just received as I am busily loading my sleigh, and as you are such a good child I have stored away a heap of goodies for you.
Santa Claus

My Christmas wish for all of you is to spend a fun filled day with family and friends during this holiday season.
