Today begins the series of the 2X great grandchildren of John Adams, the Loyalist and his wife, Sarah Coley. This couple has literally thousands of descendants and I originally planned to end this series with the great grandchildren.
However, many of the Adams men were seafarers and those who weren’t moved away from Canada and into the United States, but not just to Maine. Some moved as far away as California. Because the surname is so common, I want to include one more generation of Adams ancestors to make it easier to others to connect with their own family lines.
NOTE: First and foremost, this is still a work in progress. It’s been at least 20 years since I did a major revision on this family. Many records have been found in that time that tidy up a lot of dates and places, many of which came from family records.
The descendants are listed in ahnentafel order (in birth order of the children of John and Sarah.)
If you are a descendant of John Adams and Sarah Coley and can fill in any more of the question marks, please leave a comment.
These are the known 2X great grandchildren of Loyalists John and Sarah (Coley) Adams through their son Jonathan.
