Although it is Saturday and time for Saturday Night Genealogy Fun, Randy and his family have had a difficult week. His wife, Linda, fell and broke her hip, so the Seavers have been in my thoughts and prayers this week.
Therefore, Randy’s challenge this week is Genealogy Pot Luck!
Whatever genealogy fun you want to do – please spend an hour and do it! Then tell us about it in your own blog post, and leave a comment here which I will add to the Comments after moderation.
My genealogy fun has been to spend time – actually more than one hour – reviewing my information on ancestors Robert Wilson & Dolly Holmes, who were among the first settlers on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada.
After being contacted by another descendant of theirs, I’ve worked on filling out details about not only their children, but their grandchildren.
One daughter, Maria Wilson, married Benjamin Parker in 1812. They are my 4X great grandparents and, after working on the Wilson family, I realized I had never seriously looked at all the children of Benjamin, who married at least twice and possibly three times.
Many of the Wilsons’ and Parkers’ children had big families and there are probably thousands of descendants out there.
Now, if I could only find the one who has documented the parents/grandparents of Benjamin Parker!
It’s always good to go back and review what I know since more records keep popping up about these families.
Good luck in finding the parents/grandparents of Benjamin! Finding collateral descendants might just do the trick.
I also hope your collateral relatives can help you find Benjamin’s ancestors. And perhaps they have some wonderful photographs they will be willing to share with you.
Wishing you luck and hope you then connect with descendants who have more info to share.
