Part 3 wraps up with 3 generations of descendants and photos of some family members.

Stufflebean/Stufflebeam Family Photographs

Photography was in its infancy in the last years of John Stufflebean’s life, and while there are surviving photographs of a few Revolutionary War soldiers, it isn’t likely that John ever had his picture taken. There are no known photos of any of his children or grandchildren either.

There are a number of photos of distant family members taken in the later 1800s and early 1900s and a family resemblance can be seen in the shape of their faces down through the generations.

The closest relative so far found with a photo is Jacob Henry Stufflebean, a first cousin once removed of our John:

Several of the boys have the square-ish wide faces prevalent among Rev. War John’s descendants. Those were strong genes!
