This vintage postcard was sent from Marion to Miss Houston in the early 1900s. It wasn’t mailed, so there is no postmark, but the little girl’s curls remind me of the 1920s.

This card also is an early version of the cute little cartoon-type illustrations found on children’s cards from the 1950s and later. The Valentine Day cards from the turn of the century definitely have a Victorian flavor, being quite ornate and flowery in design.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
