Saturday Night Genealogy Fun: Who Are Your Spouse/SO’s Grandparents and Great-Grandparents?

Welcome to February and the first Saturday Night Genealogy Fun challenge of the month from Randy Seaver.

I like this week’s challenge because my husband’s origins are totally different than mine.

1)  Have you researched the ancestors of your spouse (or significant other)?  Please list the names and vital records data for your spouse/SO’s grandparents and great-grandparents like in an Ahnentafel Report.

2)  Have you written genealogical sketches and/or biographies for each of them?

5. Pearl Lillian Brasher: born 9 February 1898, Sulphur Springs, Hopkins, Texas; died 18 December 1989, Norman, Cleveland, Oklahoma, United States.

6. Oscar Eldon Sturgell: born 13 September, 1893, Barry County, Missouri; married 16 September 1915, Anadarko, Caddo, Oklahoma, United States; died 15 June 1968, Anadarko, Caddo, Oklahoma, United States.

Generation 4 (Great Grandparents):

11. Minnie Mae Williams: born 23 March 1879, Hopkins County, Texas, United States; died 22 June 1945, Hillsboro, Hill, Texas, United States.

12. Abijah Houston Sturgell: born 14 Mary 1855, Barry County, Missouri, United States; married 5 June 1876, Newton County, Missouri, United States; died 2 June 1905, Cato, Barry, Missouri, United States.

13. Martha Susannah Alberty: born 15 June 1858, Newton County, Missouri, United States; died 10 July 1916, Barry County, Missouri.

14. Clayton Columbus Nation: born 18 September 1872, Overton County, Tennessee, United States; married 20 June 1896, Clay County, Tennessee, United States; died 30 June 1922, Granite, Greer, Oklahoma, United States.

15. Matilda Jane Dulworth, born July 1869, Cumberland County, Kentucky, United States; died 1931, Granite, Greer, Oklahoma, United States.

I have written about each of these ancestors and posted stories on this blog.

Dave’s lines are German, Southern (from England and Scotland) with some early Dutch in New York, compared to my Rusyn and mostly colonial New England family. The benefit has been my education in how to research many kinds of records in many places!

Thanks, Randy, for this challenge.
