Children #9 and #10 of Caspar and Catherine (MNU) Starr are daughters Sarah and Rachel.

Sarah Starr was born c1780 and married Thomas McAtee (spelled Magotty in the will of her German speaking father) on 11 March 1802, Surry County, North Carolina.

However, their marriage was short as Thomas McAtee had died in Rowan County, North Carolina by 1806 when his estate administration began. This account was open for many years – the last document is dated 19 February 1822 – because Thomas had one surviving son, a toddler named John.

What became of Sarah is unknown. She may have married again, but no record has been found of her after the mention in her father’s 1808 will.

Child:

1. John, born 3 July 1803, Rowan County, North Carolina; died 12 January 1882, Nodaway County, Missouri; married Sarah Starr, 29 September 1825, Clark County, Indiana. Sarah was the daughter of John and Rachel (Jobe) Starr so they were first cousins.

The tenth and last child of Caspar and Catherine was daughter Rachel Starr, born c1782. She married Frederick Long, 16 June 1802, Surry County, North Carolina.

This family also migrated to Indiana, where Rachel died on 9 September 1835, per her gravestone. Her age at death is noted as 59 years old, but based on the birth years of her siblings, 1782 is probably a more reasonable year for her birth.

5. Joseph, born 13 September 1811, North Carolina; died 29 March 1897, Delaware County, Iowa; married Nancy Hunt, 7 July 1831, Wayne County, Indiana
6. James, born 1815, North Carolina; died 20 December 1891, Montgomery County, Indiana; married Elizabeth Swett, 15 September 1836, Wayne county, Indiana
