Fall has arrived in Tucson with the high today of only 90 and a nice breeze. Definitely doesn’t feel like summer i spite of the temperature!
It’s time for Saturday Night Genealogy Fun with Randy Seaver. Here is this week’s challenge:
1) Were your parents related to each other? Do your paternal and maternal lines have any surnames in common? Are they related or is there no known connection? Are there possible connections?
This is an easy one for me. With my father’s Rusyn heritage and all known ancestors residing in the Presov area of today’s Slovakia and my mother’s colonial New England with a touch of Denmark and the Netherlands thrown in the mix, my parents are most definitely not related unless way before recorded vital records in Europe began!
They have no surnames in common either – Kucharik, Scerbak, Murcko and Kacsenyak are definitely not in the mix with Adams, Coleman, Stuart and Jensen!
Their only commonality is that my parents married each other!
Thank you, Randy, for this week’s challenge. It will be interesting to see how others respond.
Like you, my parents are not related. My husband’s parents are not either, unless way way back in time!
