Today is the day in which we honor family members and ancestors who gave their lives for the freedoms that Americans enjoy today.

In how many of these conflicts and wars were your ancestors involved?

Pequot War, 1636-1638
King Philip’s War, 1675-1676
King William’s War, 1689-1697
Queen Anne’s War, 1702-1713
King George’s War, 1744-1748
French and Indian War, 1756-1763
Cherokee War, 1759-1761
American Revolution, 1775-1783
Franco-American Naval War, 1798-1800
Barbary Wars, 1801-1808; 1815
War of 1812, 1812-1815
United States Civil War, 1861-1865
Spanish-American War, 1898
World War I, 1914-1918
World War II, 1938-1945
Korean War, 1950-1953
Vietnam War, 1960-1975
Gulf War, 1990-1991

Last, but certainly not least, are all of the military interventions which have taken place from the 1990s through until today.

To all who made the ultimate sacrifice, thank you.

Remember – Freedom is not free.

  1. Pequot War 1636-1638 gets less recognition than King Philips War but it is another one sided conflict between the Indians and the Connecticut Colonies.
