Lawrence Brasher was the 7th child of Lawrence Brasher and Elizabeth Black, born c1810, possibly in Kentucky, but more likely in South Carolina as Lawrence Sr. doesn’t appear in the 1810 Kentucky census.
Lawrence Jr. grew up in Christian county and married Ailsey Lindley there on 16 March 1837. She was born in Kentucky c1818.
The Lindleys were part of the Brasher-Hamby-Armstrong-Woodruff FAN club.
Although Lawrence and Ailsey have gravestones, only their years of death are given. He died in 1882 and Ailsey followed in 1888, probably both in Hopkins County, Kentucky.
Initially, this Brasher family lived in Christian County, Kentucky, where at leas their first five children were born. sometime during the 1850s, they moved next door to Hopkins County, where they remained and lived out their lives.

This completes the family sketch of Lawrence Brasher and Ailsey Lindley. There is just one more child of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Black) Brasher for whom a family sketch is needed – their youngest daughter, Elizabeth (Brasher) Bourland.
Yet more interesting names! Parthenia reminds me of Florence Nightingale’s sister, who was Parthenope.
