August has been hot and dry, even though weathermen predicted a “wetter than normal” monsoon season. That hasn’t happened, although we have a chance of some rain through the weekend. The cactus is starting to look stressed again so I hope the early evening clouds do bring some good rainfall here in Tucson.
In the meantime, Randy Seaver has provided a statistical Saturday Night Genealogy Fun activity this weekend:
1) If you have your family tree research in a Genealogy Management Program (GMP), whether a computer software program or an online family tree, figure out how to find how many persons, places, sources, etc. are in your database (hint: the Help button is your friend!)
This will be a quick response. I’m still using RootsMagic 7 and under “File,” at the bottom of the drop down list, I found “Properties.”
This isn’t nearly as extensive a list as apparently available in RM 10, but it is what it is.

The information is pretty straight forward and boring! I’m currently working on cleaning up source citations among my 4X great grandparents and slowly, very slowly, moving along
Well, you have a lot more people in your database than I do, as well as a lot more events. Keep up the good work, so you can graduate to RM 10.
I still haven’t decided about that. Family Historian 7 is very tempting.
