The National Museum of Ireland is a treasure of online resources. On the top right of the website home page, click on Collections & Research.

A new page opens with 14 descriptive boxes about the collections and other details. Browsing each category brings up interesting history and images, but Online Galleries will provide links to more recent Irish social history and events.

Irish travel posters and drawings of traditional homes from Irish Folklife Architectural Drawing Collections were two collections that I enjoyed.

Be sure to click on the News tab at the top right to learn about upcoming talks and new exhibitions.

Last, but definitely not least, visit iCAN, the Irish Community Archive Network, which has supported the creation of more than 30 online Irish county archives and plans to have eighty (yes, 80!) digital archives across Ireland by 2028.

Visit the iCAN websites page for links to the online digital archives currently up and running in various counties to learn where they are located. You might find that your Irish ancestor’s county is already active!
