CONFERENCE KEEPER: Expand Your Genealogical Research Skills with Free Educational Webinars

Today, I’d like to share with you a terrific resource for genealogy education – Conference Keeper. I’ve mentioned this website in the past, but I realized that I’ve never devoted an entire post to a great resource that deserves to be spotlighted.

Conference Keeper is a calendar of most, if not all, of the genealogy meetings, conferences and webinars happening around the world.

The home page looks like this:

Note the banner across the top – Genealogy Conferences, Events, Calls for Papers, Contests, Grant & Scholarships, Tours & Cruises and more! Whether you are an at-home researcher or a professional offering services or looking to take a genealogy cruise, all the up-to-date news can be found here.

I can’t explain it any better than Conference Keeper does it itself:

ConferenceKeeper.org is the most complete genealogy calendar of events anywhere!  Here you will find thousands of genealogy webinars, seminars, conferences, workshops, podcasts and more, from genealogy societies, libraries, and other organizations all around the world.

My favorite stopping point is the Virtual Events Calendar in the first row of icons.

Each event has a key code: V for Virtual, F for Free, $ for paid and F/$ for some of each.

A quick look at events happening in April 2025 brings a huge number of choices:

This list only covers the first FIVE days of April!

I love perusing the opportunities. I especially love the presentations where guests can attend the live event for free. However, I’ve also joined a handful of societies because I discovered them on Conference Keeper, really enjoyed the programs and decided to support the society with my membership.

If you would like to expand your own genealogy research skills, check out the Conference Keeper calendar!
