Hard to believe it’s already November and we are entering the holiday season. However, it’s also the weekend so time for some more Saturday Night Genealogy Fun with Randy Seaver.
This week’s challenge is interesting, as I have more than one ancestor from whom I descend at least twice.
Loyalist Robert Carlisle and his wife Catherine (MNU) are my 4X great grandparents. I descend from two of their daughters, Abigail and Catherine.
Abigail married Israel Hicks and had daughter Elida Ann Hicks (1833-1914). Elida married Charles Stewart (1822-1894). Catherine married John Stewart and had son Charles Stewart, above. Nn this instance, first cousins married.
I also have a tangled Lakin descent:

William and Mary Lakin are my 10X great grandparents and I am descended once from their son William who married Lydia Brown, once from son John who married Mary Bacon and a third time when William and Lydia’s granddaughter, Lydia Lakin, married John and Mary’s grandson, Jonathan Shepley.
That’s it for my double and triple descents.
Thank you, Randy, for this week’s challenge.
Since you suggested the theme, I knew you would have one of the relationships. It probably happened more often further back for me, but I’m unaware of it.
So Jonathan Shepley and Lydia Lakin were second cousins, but then their son Oliver Shepley married Mary Lakin, who was his first cousin. This is a very close family.
