This family lived with widow Maria Knap’s family in 1869 at Ujak 88. Peter may have had a first marriage, given son Peter’s birth year. Peter died 30 May, buried 31 May 1889, aged 50 years. Maria, widow, born Mudrik, died 15 April, buried 17 April 1904, aged 70 years.

Varcholyak, Peter, Ujak, born c1816, buried 27 January 1854, aged 38 years

The Varchol surname and its variants are common names in Slovakia. The most famous Varchol person was Rusyn-American artist Andy Warhol. His family was from the Preson region, but not from Udol.

Due to the commonality of the name and its variations, if and how they are all related is not known. One of the spelling variations in America was Warholak and they, too, settled in Passaic, New Jersey.
