Dvorozsnyak Family of Udol, Slovakia

This family is part of my one-place study of St. Dimitry’s Greek Catholic (today Byzantine Catholic) Church parish, serving Udol and Hajtovka, Slovakia, covering the years 1827-about 1920. I will be sharing family records, roughly once a week, until all families in the parish are posted. Be aware that ages at marriage and death frequently don’t match baptismal records, when found. If you have ancestors who lived in these two villages and would like to receive an invitation to a shared Dropbox folder, please leave a comment and I will contact you.

DVOROZSNYAK

Dvorozsnyak, Basil (c1850-24 July 1894), widower of Matisova & Susanna Bisz (c1860-1902+), daughter of Andrew Bisz and the deceased Maria Arendacs of Ujak 51, married 8 February 1880, Ujak 51, 64, 71 & 72, GC, GC

Basil died 24 July, buried 26 July 1894, aged 45 years. Susanna married (2) Demetrius Kundrat, 52, 19 June 1902.
Children:

  1. Peter, born 2 May, bp 9 May 1880; died 1 December, buried 3 December 1882, aged 3 years
  2. John, born 14 March, bp 26 March 1882; died 1 May, buried 3 May 1883, aged 1 year, 1 month

  7. John, born 3 January, bp 13 January 1895

This is a very small family. However, widow Susanna married into the Kundrat family, which was much bigger and has descendants in America.

When Matisova’s church records become available online, it may be possible to take this line back several more generations.
