2021 continues to fly along and we are in mid-November with the holidays almost upon us. this weeks’ Saturday Night Genealogy Fun challenge by Randy Seaver concerns grandparents, in general, or our own:
1) Write a story using the phrase “Grandparents are important because” in 100 words. [Hint: If you write it in a word processor, you can use Tools > Word Count (or similar) to count words.]
Grandparents are “extra” parents who love, care for, and spoil us. Grandparents teach us how things were done in the past and how to get along in the present. They watch over us and do the fun things parents don’t always have time for. Grandparents cheer us on and cheer us up, helping us to continue on in spite of adversity. They share stories about people and places they have seen. They are our generation connectors, sharing stories about those who have gone before us and passing on family traditions, bringing the family together.
This is the kind of task I like to mull over and refine, but there isn’t time for that!
