It’s time again for Saturday Night Genealogy Fun with Randy Seaver on Genea-Musings.
Here is this week’s challenge:
Whatever genealogy fun you want to do – please spend an hour and do it! Then tell us about it in your own blog post, and leave a comment here which I will add to the Comments after moderation.
I’m going to cheat a little bit here because my genealogy fun was actually five hours, one per day from Monday to Friday, listening to the 2021 Carpatho-Rusyn Research Center Summer Seminar.
While most genealogy webinars are aimed towards beginner/intermediate level researchers, the C-RRC seminar sessions were quite scholarly in their focus. I missed most of Monday’s talk because we were out doing some necessary errands. I’ll have to wait until the sessions are posted on YouTube
Monday – How the Carpatho-Rusyns Were Taught to Think Like White People with Robert Zecker
Tuesday – Welcome! A Textbook of Rusyn with E. Wayles Browne
Wednesday – The Poetry and Politics of Andrii Karabelesh with Nick Kupensky
Thursday – Young Rusyn Professionals: North America – Roundtable with Alexandra Benc, Johna Cook and Isabel Fernando
Friday – Young Rusyn Professionals: Europe – Roundtable with Tomas Kalynyc, Myhal Lyzhechko, Peter Stefanak and Marta Watral
This is a yearly presentation. To view the 2020 seminars, go to YouTube and just search for Rusyn summer. The five sessions will all appear near the top of the results list.
That list definitely does not look as though it’s geared for beginners. This sounds like a great resource, and how wonderful that they make them available. I’ll be checking them out on YouTube.
