DISCLAIMER: I am an official RootsTech 2020 Ambassador. However, this year I unfortunately will be unable to attend in person, but am serving as a virtual ambassador to a fun genealogical learning experience. 🙂
January 2020 has arrived and it is but a few short weeks away from the 10th anniversary conference – RootsTech 2020, being held in Salt Lake City from 26-29 February 2020.
There are lots of reasons why you should attend!
First, there are terrific keynote speakers. This year, Friday’s keynote speaker is acclaimed Pulitzer Prize winning photographer David Hume Kennerly, who served as photographer to the president under Gerald Ford.
Saturday’s keynote address will be given by Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, businessman, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities, which provide unique experiences for underserved youth.
Each of these speakers will have many interesting stories to share.
Second, RootsTech will offer over 300 (!) sessions, covering topics ranging from research organization to tech tools and tips to DNA use, presented by experienced family history researchers. What a terrific educational experience!
Third, RootsTech 2020 is offering promotional pricing for a three day pass right now – $189 – instead of $299 for a 4-day pass.
Fourth, the Family History Library is steps away – actually a half block – from the convention center. Take advantage and spend some quality time researching in the library while you are in town.
Fifth, take this opportunity to meet up with old friends and make some new friends, too. What I love most is that the convention center is filled with people who all LOVE to hear about genealogical discoveries.
