Mississippi Genealogy Resources

On 10 December 1817, the western portion of Mississippi
Territory became the 20th state of the young country of America. The eastern portion became the state of Alabama two years later.

MSGenWeb – volunteer site with information organized by counties. Well worth a visit, as some unique items are housed in USGenWeb. However, amount of contest per site varies considerably, depending on contributions to it.
