Alabama Department of Archives & History – scroll on the left side to Other Sources and then Historical and Genealogical Societies for a PDF file of many local and county genealogical and historical societies, complete with contact info.
Alabama Department of Archives & History Digital Collections – This is a huge, varied collection. Be sure to check it out carefully!

ALGenWeb – hosted by county volunteers, so some sites are chock full of records, while others are sparse.
