Here is the fifth and final contribution to Schalene Dagutis’s The Slave Name Roll Project for Black History Month 2018.

I Richard Thomasen of Scott County Kentucky being weak in body
but of a sound and disposing mind do on this 14th day of June
1862 make and publish this my last will and testament revoking all
others in the following manner (towit) First I give and bequeath to
my son Manlius Thomasen all of my personal and real estate after all my just debts shall have been paid I mean by the term heir or child or bodily  heirX Secondly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in  that event my will is that my sister Elizabeth Threldkeld shall have my two fields that are now in Grass and are situated on the southern side of North Elkhorn the same feilds (sic) that were willed to me by my  father in his lifetime My will is that my said sister Elizabeth Threlkeld shall have my negro woman named finnettX Thirdly if My son Manlius Thomasen shall died without an heir in that event my will is that my sister Nancy Lucas shall have my negro man named Bill Forthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in  that event my will is the my sister Pauline Wilkerson shall have my negro man named tomX Fifthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die witout an heir in that event my will is that my nephew Westernd (?) Threlkeld shall have a feild (sic) of my land on the south side of North Elkhorn adjacent to the (two?) given to Elizabeth Threld keld and which feild (sic) is to extend up the said stream till it (?) the line of a fence coming down the slope of the hill to the creek the land outside of this field between the said field and the bank of the creek up to the said line that comes down to the creeks is also given to the said Western ThreldkeldX Sixthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in that event my will
is that the present wife of Elza Thomasen and her children and
the child of the said Elza by his first wife shall have all the tract
of my land on the North side of North Elkhorn that is the  home tract on which I live Seventhly If my son Manlius  Thomasen shall die without an heir in that event my will  is that my cousin Squire Lucus of Grant County Kentucky shall have the residue of my land Eightly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in that event my will is that (John Lucus) nephew of said squire Lucus of Grant County Kentucky shall have one hundred dollars Ninthly If my son
Manlius Thomasen shall die with out an heir in that event my will is that my cousin Sandford Thomasen of Illinois Shall have my negro man named Granville Tenthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in that event  my will is that the wife and children of McRobinson decd shall have my negro man named Dudan(?) I mean the McRobinson decd who was the hsuband of Mary McRobinson Eleventhly If my son Manuius Thomasen shall die without an heir
in that event my will is that Elizabeth Lucas (dughter (sic) of the aforesaid squire Lucus) shall have one hundred dollars

Twelthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an
heir in that event my will is that my sister Elizabeth Threld
kill shall have two of my negros one named Jerry and the
other named Eliza Ann Thirteenthly If my son Manlius Thom
asen shall die without an heir in that event my will is that
my nephew Western Threldkill shall have my negro boy named
Peter Fourteenthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die without
an heir in that event my will is that the present wife of
Elza Thomasen and her children and the child of said Elza
by his first wife shall have my two negros named Millo(?)
and Margerett Fifteenthly If my son Manlius thomasen shall
die without an heir in that event my will is that the afore
said squire Lucas of Grant County Kentucky shall have my
two negroes named America and Mary Jane Sixteenthly If my
son Manlius Thomasen shall die without an heir in that
event my will is that my cousin Sandford Thomasen of Illi
nios (sic) shall have my three negroes named Bet Kitty & Sallie
Seventeenthly If my son Manlius Thomasen shall die with
out an heir in that event my will is that Nancy Ann
Johnson grand dughter (sic) of Elizabeth Threldkeld shall have
my negro girl named Susan Eighteenthly If my son Manlius
Thomasen shall die without an heir in that event my will is
that my nephew Josheph B. Threldked shall have my negro boy
named Zeach Nineteenthly I hereby appoint and constitute
Moses Threlkeld my executor to carry out the purposes which
I have herein set forth until my son Manlius Thomasen shall
have arrived at the age of twenty one years then he the said
Manlius shall take the management himself My will is that
no sale of my property be made but that the stock be kept
upon the promises that is the present state but if thee be a sur
plus arising from the increase of the stock then that surplus is
to be sold for the benfte of my son Manlius Thomason In Testi-
mony of which I the said Richard Thomasen have hereto sub
scribed my name the day and date aforesaid

A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of
Richard Thomason decd was this day produced in open court
and proved to by the oaths of John W. Hollway & J. Jones
the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded
att. J.C. Applegate Clrk
