Here’s an almost Wordless Wednesday throw back photo from the summer of 1955:
Summer 1955 – Neighborhood Lemonade Stand
I think we all had summer lemonade stands at one time or another. I remember setting up several, but I also remember making very little money AND having to split it with friends.
This photo was taken at my husband’s family home in Compton. His brother, Phillip, is the tall boy in the middle and Dave is directly in front of him, wearing the striped shirt. Dave still remembers the names of all but one of their neighborhood friends.
I don’t see any money on the table or being shown off here – it looks like maybe they made about as much as I remember making!
Fun photo and fun memory. We lived out in the country with very little traffic and so we never had a lemonade stand, but the kids in our neighborhood sure like to have lemonade stands, sucker stands, you name it—they sell it.
